Triumph for the Movement Solutions Physiotherapy Spin Team!
Many of you know that Blair Purvis, Movement Solutions Physiotherapy owner is a passionate cyclist. Staff physiotherapists, Shawn Ord and Luke Binnington have also signed up for a cycling race that will take place this spring. A couple months ago the boys were discussing their training progress. We determined that participating in a GoodLife Kids Foundation Spin4Kids event would be a great team building activity and conditioning for the aspiring racers, all for a meaningful cause. GoodLife Kids Foundation is a children's charity that supports programs across Canada that are getting kids physically active and removing some of the barriers currently holding children back from living a healthy life. Funds raised go towards grants for physical activity programming and equipment for kids with special needs. Schools can also apply to have trained instructors lead grade 4 children through fitness programming. Hamilton and Burlington area children and programs such as the Halton Down Syndrome Association have already benefitted from these grants.
Once our team registered, the competitive nature of the Movement Solutions Physiotherapy staff kicked in with a fundraising challenge. Our newest recruit Lana Kovacevic put the pedal to the metal and set the bar high so we all rallied to meet our goals!
March 4th Blair, Taffina, Dini, Shawn, Leslie and I donned our spandex, saddled up and clipped in for a heart pumping spinning class at GoodLife's Ancaster location.
We're absolutely thrilled that we exceeded our goal and raised $1160 for this important cause! We would like to express sincere gratitude to our clients, friends and families for their support, encouragement and generosity.
